Moonshadow Villa Companion Guide & Dictionary

Welcome to Moonshadow Villa!

Before you dive into the dark, intricate world of vampires, hunters, and shifting loyalties, this companion guide is here to help you navigate the story, understand the visual layout, and keep track of the complex lore as the translation progresses.

I HIGHLY recommend you following along the video uploads while reading the translations, as their soundtracks add a lot to the storytelling.

Ayer Main Route
Cain Main Route

*For the Prologue, it doesn't really matter which video link you watch as the only differences would be one-liner answers depending on which response you choose in the game.

A Note on Visuals and Sprites

As you begin the early chapters, you will notice that some of the character sprites and CGs (Computer Graphics) look a bit dated or less polished compared to newer content. Moonshadow Villa has been running for a long time, and the developers have significantly upgraded the art style and character models over the years.

In the live game, players have the option to purchase the newer, updated character sprites, which automatically replace the older models in the story chapters. However, because I am translating from an existing archive uploaded by another player, I have no control over which visual assets are displayed. The source material was recorded a while ago using the original, older sprites. Rest assured, the story remains just as gripping, and the art style evolves beautifully as the timeline progresses!

As an example, here is the original artwork and sprites used.

Later on, they upgraded some assets and sprites.

And currently, artworks are phenomenal and getting better by the day!

The Living Dictionary

The lore of Moonshadow Villa is vast, spanning multiple factions, ancient artifacts, and distinct settings. This section will serve as a growing reference page. As new terms, locations, and magical items are introduced in the translations, they will be cataloged here in alphabetical order for quick reference.

Ayer (Ai Er) — Main Character / Male Lead. A powerful, high-ranking vampire with a uniquely complex nature. He possesses a dual identity, shifting between a "White" and "Black" form that drastically changes both his appearance and his demeanor. As one of the core romanceable leads, his route forces the player to navigate his contrasting personalities and deep-seated secrets.

Blood Ward — Lore / Magic. A powerful protective barrier utilized exclusively by Vampire Hunters to safeguard human territory and isolate specific locations from vampire incursions. Rather than using physical liquid blood, these wards are constructed from specialized, condensed spiritual or magical energy unique to human hunter arts; because pureblood vampires cannot create them, these barriers serve as humanity's definitive line of defense to violently repel and keep purebloods at bay.

Cain (Gai Yin) — Main Character / Male Lead. The formidable and imposing leader of the faction opposed to Ayer. Known for his ruthless efficiency and commanding presence, he serves as the other primary romanceable branch in the game. His storyline offers a distinct, high-stakes narrative path centered on power dynamics, duty, and intense conflict.

Fan You — The main protagonist and point-of-view character of Moonshadow Villa. As a human pulled into a dangerous supernatural society, her choices and growing favorability with the vampire leads determine the ultimate branch and outcome of the story.

Fu — Supporting Character / Original Heroine. The canonical heroine of the original game world that Fan You transmigrated into. As a pivotal figure deeply tied to the game's core mystery and reincarnation lore, she was known as Alice in her past life. Now, as the chosen one who bears Cain's mark, her existence and pre-destined fate are irrevocably bound to the pureblood vampire prince, casting a massive shadow over the narrative and creating a central point of tension for the protagonist.

Hunter Guild [Term] — Faction / Organization. The primary human institution dedicated to training Vampire Hunters and defending humanity against the threats posed by vampires. Operating on strict protocols and specialized hunter arts, the Guild serves as the political and martial hub for human resistance, training hunters to cast protective measures like blood wards while navigating a tense, complex dynamic with both purebloods and half-bloods.

Lev Campbell [Character] — Supporting Character / Vampire Hunter. A key figure within the Hunter Guild who serves as a high-ranking or veteran hunter navigating the dangerous politics between humanity and the Vampires. Deeply committed to maintaining the Guild's protocols and protecting human territory, his presence highlights the strict duty, systemic conflicts, and pragmatic choices required to survive in a world dominated by purebloods and complex alliances.
